Information regarding immigration overstay provisions in Indoneszia

Multiple Entry Visa

Overstay refers to a situation where a foreign national (WNA) remains in Indonesia beyond the permitted period stated on their Visa on Arrival (VoA), Visit Stay Permit (ITK), Limited Stay Permit (KITAS), or Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP).

Overstay is considered an immigration violation and is regulated under Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration and its implementing regulations.

Overstay is divided into two main categories:

A. Overstay ≤ 60 Days

  • Subject to an administrative fine.
  • Fine of IDR 1,000,000 per day.
  • After payment, the foreign national must extend their stay permit (if eligible) or leave Indonesia.

B. Overstay > 60 Days

  • Subject to Immigration Administrative Action.
  • Includes deportation.
  • Blacklisting for a certain period based on policy.
